I never met Larry, but I've been doing lots of reading lately about him and his work with Phil Spector in particular. My father-in-law, Alex North, co-wrote Unchained Melody, and I've been trying to learn more about all of the early recordings of the song. I so wished I had had the opportunity to meet Larry and ask him a billion questions about his techniques. My birthday is May 8 -- i was touched by the fact that I share that with Larry.
I am so sorry for your loss, but what a tremendous legacy Larry has left!

Larry helped to give the world some of the greatest music ever released. He was lucky to have been in the right place at the right time when Phil Spector, Jack Nitzche and The Wrecking Crew leapt into Studio A at Gold Star.
Thanks for making the world a better place
